Who Are We?
Our congregation recognizes the fellowship of other congregations throughout the world with a large membership represented who are known as Christian Churches.
We are independent of all ecclesiastical control from any organization, whether local, state, or national. We are under the rule of Christ and totally dependent on Him.
We simply want to be Christians, offering the unity of all believers in Christ.
It is our desire to follow the Bible in all matters of faith, worship, and practice. We believe in the Divine inspiration of the Scriptures. Christ's prayer was that we all be one according to the Word; God's purpose for the church is to be united through the Word; our message is to offer this plan for Christian unity.
Our History
After much concern for Denton and the students at the two colleges in Denton not having a New Testament Church at their convenience, brother Bob. J Cox began with the help of Texas Evangelism to start such a church.
The first meeting was held on Friday, November the 21, 1969 at the community center at 7:30pm where an area youth rally was hosted. 400 plus attended.
The need for a meeting place of our own became so pressing that a loan of $10,000 from Texas Evangelism made it possible to begin a building, consisting of an auditorium, two classrooms, two restrooms, and a kitchen.
We held our first services in our building on Mother's Day, May 1971.
Our church celebrated 50 years of ministry in 2019. We are a small church with a big heart and a hope to grow our congregation.
